When I'm thinking about something else while playing, so when I'm not thinking about the game, I sometimes get much higher scores than the moments I'm fully concentrated. If Viridian collects all of the trinkets in the game and talks to Victoria, a cutscene plays and the Secret Lab is unlocked. There are twenty trinkets scattered about in-game, both within levels and the overworld. Like someone already said before, people seem to be better in a normal play than in NDM. Trinkets (referred to in-game as Shiny Trinkets) are shiny, coin-like collectibles that unlock music tracks in the Jukebox. I'm not the 1st person to do this. I had around 600 deaths for my first 100 playthrough (90 minutes), but my most recent was (finally) the elusive 0 death run. Featuring: VVVVVV, SUPERHOT, Super Hexagon, Jostle Parent, Hotline Miami, Helix. One death at the Lab when trying to speed run and another at Teleporter Divot. When the player dies, they will be greeted with a game over screen showing their progress. What I found interesting is that the deaths I made until Intermission 1 weren't. No Death Mode is an optional challenge that is incredibly difficult, requiring the entire game to be beaten without dying, hence the name. I recently played the main game again, did it with only 29 deaths.
